Footing Construction

Layout + Excavation + Pour

Foot·ing

\ ˈfo͝odiNG \

The dictionary defines a footing as the bottommost part of a foundation wall, with a course of concrete wider than the base of the foundation wall. This provides support to the foundation.

The Home Layout

Proper footing construction is an important component to a long lasting, structurally sound building. Using the building plan, we paint the perimeter and pier footing layout on the ground.

Footing Excavation

After the home layout is painted on the ground, we excavate the perimeter and pier footings including step downs for elevation changes. We also do steel integration for high wind zones.

Concrete Pour

After footing excavation and inspection, we prepare for the concrete pour. Concrete is poured at the prescribed depth, leveled and smoothed out to make foundation construction easier.

What Footings do:

We like to define footings as an excavated channel, filled with concrete to a specific depth. Perimeter and pier footings are used to provide support for the foundation and floor system. Basically, a footing is what holds up the foundation walls. Footings are required for almost every building project including the construction of stick built, modular, mobile homes, work shops, and other ancillary buildings. Our in-house team will turn-key your footing project from start to finish.

“Footings come in many different shapes and sizes, and we have them all covered.”

Foundation & Masonry

Layout + Excavation + Pour

Ma·son·ry

 \ ˈmā-sᵊn-rē  \

Brick, concrete block, stone, or similar building block units that are usually bonded together with mortar to build a wall, walkway, steps, veneer, or columns. Also known as the art of masons.

Crawlspace Foundations

Crawlspace foundations can be defined as an elevated foundation that uses footing and block to support the structure. It is closed off except for the vents and access doors.

Stem-Wall Foundations

Stem-wall construction provides a raised platform for a building slab and connects the foundation to the walls. Typically, a garage will require a block foundation with a monolithic slab.

Masonry Veneer

Veneer is an aesthetic upgrade to your home’s exterior. Most of the structural components use cinder blocks. Veneer typically is constructed with your choice of brick and/or stone.

“A solid foundation is vital to the integrity of your home or building project. We provide all residential masonry construction services as well as support services such as grading and drainage.

Concrete Flatwork

Prep + Form + Pour

Con·crete

\ ˈkän-ˌkrēt \

A strong building material made by mixing a cementing material and a mineral aggregate (such as sand and gravel) with sufficient water to cause the cement to set and bind the entire mass.

Prep + Build Forms

The first step in adding new concrete surfaces is to prep the surface, and add any necessary fill to build up the area. Then we start constructing the concrete forms. This is what shapes your project.

Add Fill + Pour

Depending on the project, additional aggregates may be needed such as gravel and/or sand. After the fill is compacted and the forms are built, we pour the concrete. Last thing to do is decide on finishing.

Finishing Options

Concrete finishing is vital to achieving a desired look. Common types of finishing include broom finish, slick finish, and stamped and stained. The possibilities are endless when it comes to finishing.

“Our concrete flatwork services include driveways, walkways, garage floors, and patios. There are endless options when it comes to concrete finishing. Pick finish, add color, and incorporate patterns.”
